The Augsburg Fairytale Route – the original
The Augsburg Fairytale Route The Regio Augsburg Tourismus GmbH presents the traditional “Augsburg Fairytale Route” around the romantic Christkindlesmarkt in the run-up to Christmas. The original has only been available in Augsburg for over 15 years! In the lovingly designed store windows of various stores, everything revolves around fairytale children’s stories. Animated fairytale scenes enchant children, parents and grandparents.
A children’s riddle and illuminated, twinkling icicle trees guide you from window to window. Anyone who has solved all the questions in the puzzle can hope to win an attractive prize.
Entry cards are available at the Tourist Information Office on Rathausplatz, at the start of the fairytale route directly at the children’s Christmas market at Modehaus Wöhrl and at the “Heavenly Post Office” at the Christkindlesmarkt on Rathausplatz.

Pettersson gets a Christmas visit
A story by Swedish children’s author Sven Nordqvist – it is told in nine different shop windows:
On the day before Christmas Eve, Pettersson and his cat Findus go into the forest, as they do every year, to choose their Christmas tree. On the way, however, Pettersson sprains his ankle so badly that he can no longer walk – and nothing has been prepared for Christmas. Findus thinks: What a sad Christmas this is going to be!
But when the neighbors find out about the disaster, they fill their baskets with the most delicious things, make their way to the two of them and bring them over. This Christmas ends up being the best the two of them have ever celebrated.
